Beauty Box, Sephora

Play by Sephora August 2017

Play by Sephora!

The inner geek comes out when I notice the theme of this months box is science themed.  To the ribbon stringed bag (included in every box) and the periodic themed table info sheet makes my heart warm.  I’ve always had the inner quest to figure out why or how a product works the way it does.  I could binge watch “How Its Made” (science channel) 0r old episodes of Food Networks “Unwrapped” so to my surprise this thought out theme is one I hobby.

If you never stepped into a Sephora , a Sephora in JC Pennys or shopping online take the free sign up they offer for the reward points system.  Once a “Beauty Insider”  this program lets you accumulate points on purchases to redeem for deluxe samples in their Rewards Bazaar.  Included with your Play box is 50 extra beauty insider points you can redeem at your local store.  That is a double plus for me since I am always running out of something or another.  This months Play Box has included 6 samples.  Two of which I love and have always had positive reviews the other 4 are brand new to me and am excited to see how they work for me.

Living proof. PHD (Perfect Hair Day) Dry Shampoo

This is not your average run of the mill dry shampoo.  They claim it cleans the hair and eliminates oil, sweat and odor rather than just applying product to mask your no-poo days.  In my all time top 3 dry shampoos I always purchase an extra for back up.  Although I feel that the product adds a bit of volume I find I need the volume added to my roots and stays all day without my head feeling heavy or weighted.   I dare you to try and not fall in love with this product.  Try the travel size, for only $12 how could you not?

Living proof. PHD (Perfect Hair Day) Dry Shampoo

1.8 oz. $12.00  4 oz. $22.00

SOL Janeiro – Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

Just look at my solo review on this product! Enough said!

SOL Janeiro – Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

2.5 oz $20  8.1 oz. $48

The Original Beauty Blender – micro.mini

The mini to the original that started it all.  I know when blending out myself or a client this does the job on those inner corners.  The point of this blender blends in all the right places 😉 Also does a fantastic job on the contour on rounder faced applications.  Just make sure to use it damp!

The Original Beauty Blender – micro.mini

2 pack $18

Too Faced – Mascara Melt Off

I ended up using this to take off my “Better than sex” Too Faced Waterproof formula.  It did the job just fine.  Took the product off better than using just my micellar water.  I did find cleansing oil did the same trick but appreciate the unique wand applicator with this product.

Too Faced – Mascara Melt Off

0.23 oz. $17.00

Kat Von D – Saint eau de parfum & Sinner eau de parfum

The naughty and nice parfum 🙂  The packaging is great, I love the bottle design and being a goth at heart this made it flutter.  Parfum is such a personal choice. See the notes in this Saint and Sinner.

Saint: Vanilla, Musk, Jasmine

Sinner: Patchouli, Wood, Cinnamon

Stop by your local Sephora store to sniff out this new duo.

Kat Von D – Saint eau de parfum & Sinner eau de parfum

1.7 oz. $65

3.4 oz. $85

Kat Von D – Lock-it concealer creme – Shade L11 Neutral

I’m love, love, loving this at the moment I am going back to re-purchase.  It rivals my NARS creamy concealer in vanilla AND my Maybelline instant age rewind in 160 (brightener)

I LOVE when something comes along so unexpected and it blows your socks off (more like my under-eyes away)  Its the right mix of creamy, pigmented goodness that brightens up my best feature.  Make sure you sample this at your next visit to Sephora.  This line comes in an array of colors.  Even comes in a white for mega highlighting or creating a custom tone.  I had no problems with creasing and I felt my under-eye was hydrated all day – A bonus being in my 30’s!

Kat Von D – Lock-it concealer creme – Shade L11 Neutral

0.22 oz $26  range of 21 shades

That does it for this Months PLAY by Sephora Box.  Looking forward to next month!
