Its no doubt this months round of Beauty Boxes center around self love. Tired after the Holidays I’m finally getting into the swing of 2018. February hits the sweet spot for me here in NY as its time to get ready for some Spring loving. If your anything like me (and have winter) We kinda hibernate around here. Too cold to really be outdoors, this season has been brutal. Luckily my Husband puts up with my lack of shaved legs and love for dry shampoo. My resolution for this year was to take care of myself more so my year is starting off right. My son turned 5 this year, a pivotal point in my life as Ive often wondered where I would be once my last child starts off to school. They are a little older and are starting to take some responsibility for chores. Among other things I would like to start saving for new living room furniture, Its been almost 15 years since we replaced the couch, loveseat and coffee tables. They have carried us thru 2 babies, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 guinea pig and the occasional chicken (for a later post LOL!) Needless to say Stanley Steamer has been called often to give the furniture a good clean and face lift. There will always be stains in the matter leaky juice cups and you can still find a few goldfish that escape to the pits of the couch cushions but the furniture has given us good warm memories. Should I mention it use to be a ivory microfiber 🙂 Its now tan Ha! Its time for some me time this year 🙂
Birchbox this month as well as the other subscription boxes this month is all about a little self love and pampering yourself. Whether your big into Valentines day or advocate Singles Awareness Day it still goes into the theme of self love.
I like subscribing to Birchbox because the range of samples the box includes. They tend to be deluxe products of luxury companies that I would never purchase and spend my money on my own. Oh, did I mention its $10 a month! was the first and longest subscription box I have been receiving. It came out of the simple need to try highly rated products without the hefty price tag. Being a SAHM and a 1 income family the priority shifts to the family as a whole and if I spent all our money on beauty products that did not work…… Well, you get the jist.
When you sign up for Birchbox Subscription Box you are taken to your unique beauty profile. This insures you are getting the best products for your unique life. Your skin type, tone, color…. your hair and perfume preferences. Its all there. Not to mention box customization choices before your order ships. Like a product from a recent box? Have it ship free from the selection of add ons that are curated that month.
They also have a loyalty program that lets you earn 1 point for every $1 you spend by shopping and gifting subscriptions (that’s 10% back on purchases) Its also quite convenient to be able to purchase full size items right from their store.
Well, I guess you heard enough from me….. What was in my box this month?
Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream – Full Size, $29. Meant to brighten, de-puff and vanish under eye circles. This Botanical formula is 99% natural. I have been using this for a few days now. It has that cooling effect, followed by tightening of the skin on my orbital bone where I need it the most. An A+ for seeing and feeling immediate results and cant wait to see any possible long term effects with continued use.
Briogeo – Reparative Leave-in Spray – Full Size, $20. This does it all spray strengthens, add shine and leaves strands feeling so soft. I have used this on my chemically treated hair and is true to its claims. It has its home on the front lines of my hair care and I have repurchased multiple times!
MAC Cosmetics Mascara – Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara – Full Size, $23 Apply on this clump free, carbon black mascara that claims to lengthen, condition and defines every lash. If your experiencing clumpy-ness you have too much product on the thin short bristles of the wand. Gently wipe off for less product and this mascara will shine.
R+Co Park AVE Blow Out Balm – Full Size, $28 This smoothing balm adds bounce to your blowout while protecting from heat damage. Massage a dollop into damp hair then blow-dry. I applied it this morning. My hair feels thicker and cuticles smoothed. You can compare this to a texture spray pre-blowdry with your hair still feeling soft as ever. R+Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo is one of my favorites so I’m glad to find another stellar product from this hair-care line.
Sunday Riley Good Genes All-in-one Lactic Acid Treatment, Full Size, $105. With a massive cult following gaining 5 Stars with any retailer this best selling, high potency lactic acid treatment exfoliates dead skin cells, plumps fine lines, evens out hyper-pigmentation and boosts skins glow. This is Beauty Lane approved but if your new to this type of treatment I suggest applying every other day till skin gets use to this texture changing goddess of a product.
Being my longest subscription box and in running for value this is Beauty Lane approved. You cant deny the quality of deluxe samples sent just for you for $10 a month and the love I feel getting a present curated just for me.
